Worship

We follow the basic ordering of the Reformed Tradition (going back to John Knox in Scotland and John Calvin before that in Switzerland) for regular worship at 10:00am each Sunday. We offer Sunday School at the same 10am hour, with a staffed Nursery as well. We like to vary our services regularly, and offer the following special worship opportunities:

  • A Candle-lighting Family Christmas Eve service held at 4:30pm Christmas Eve (this year this service has been moved to Christmas day at 10am)

  • A Candle-lighting Christmas Eve service held at 7:30pm, with full Chancel Choir participation (carol singing begins at 7:15 - come early for a seat as the church fills quickly!)

  • An Ash Wednesday Soup Supper followed by a Lenten activity and informal worship around the tables in our Fellowship Hall

  • A Laity Sunday in the winter

  • A service on Maundy Thursday of Holy Week that includes the Lord's Supper and the Tenebrae Service of Lights & Shadows

  • An Easter morning service at 10:00am, with Coffee Hour and bagels afterward, and an Easter egg hunt for children

  • A Music Sunday near the end of the program year (usually in May)

  • Jeans Sunday over Memorial Day weekend - where we meet on the church lawn for a brief service, and then use the rest of the time to work on the landscaping - in our jeans, of course (not being held in 2023 as we search for our Interim Pastor)

  • Outdoor worship on our lawn the month of August

  • Rally Day Sunday in the Fall with special activities for the children -- held on the first Sunday after Labor Day

  • The Lord's Supper observed the first Sunday of each month

  • A Junior Sermon the fourth Sunday of each month
